Abstract

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a highly prevalent disorder in the global population, characterized by multiple intervals of upper airway obstruction and sleep interruption during rest. This condition leads to various negative consequences, such as the development of cardiovascular diseases, increased blood pressure, among others. In this context, studies have been conducted with patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea syndrome to investigate this condition. Among the findings, it has been observed that OSA has a direct influence on the development of hypertension, and its treatment with different devices has shown positive outcomes in reducing blood pressure levels. Therefore, given the problems directly triggered by hypertension, it is crucial to understand this correlation and address it appropriately to promote health, quality of life, and favorable cardiovascular outcomes for affected patients.
