Introduction: Technology in neurology is revolutionizing the way we deal with brain and neurological disorders, offering significant advances in diagnosis, treatment and research. Neuroimaging is essential for a good diagnosis of neurological diseases. The main tests performed are Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT). With the development of new tools and techniques, healthcare professionals are finding innovative ways to approach and treat a variety of neurological conditions. Thus, advances in neuroimaging technology may be useful in psychiatric clinical practice, to assist in the diagnosis and prognosis of neurological diseases. Objective: Analyze the impact of advanced neuroimaging technology on the diagnosis and management of neurological diseases Method: Integrative review carried out in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and PubMed. A combination of the terms “neuroimaging technology” and neurological diseases were used. Original articles published between 2014 and 2024 were included, available in full and free of charge in Portuguese and English. Articles were excluded by reading the title and abstract, selecting those that were related to the objective. Results: The effectiveness of neuroimaging as proof of diagnosis demonstrates through the results the identification of specific magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques for structural, functional, perfusional and bioenergetic metabolic brain studies. Conclusion: This highlighted the main scientific and technological advances in neuroscience and its contribution to the treatment of the most common neurological diseases. Neuroscience was the area where the greatest scientific advances took place in recent decades. Driven by technological advances, neuroscientists today work in areas very close to science fiction. Robotic limbs, electronic retinas, implantation of brain chips and other research are coming, in the very near future, to help people with various deficits that prevent them from having a full life.
