Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the clinical aspects of acute ischemic stroke performed in the last five years. Integrative review in the BVS, LILACS, SciELO, PubMed database of works published between 2020 and 2024, combining the descriptors "ischemic stroke", "diagnosis" and "treatment". Ischemic stroke consists of sudden neurological deficits that result from focal cerebral ischemia with permanent cerebral infarction. It is concluded that the diagnosis is clinical, but CT or RN is performed to confirm the presence and extent of the stroke. Thrombolytic therapy can be very useful in certain patients.
