Abstract

Introduction: Abdominal pain is a common complaint in medical practice, especially in emergency settings where the speed and accuracy of diagnosis are crucial for effective management. Methodology: The methodology for addressing the management of abdominal pain in the emergency room involves a series of systematic and interconnected steps. Initially, a comprehensive review of the existing literature on the subject is conducted, utilizing recognized medical databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Result: The approach to acute abdomen in women should always consider the possibility of pregnancy, as many conditions and treatments can affect gestation. Pregnancy tests are essential before performing invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Conclusion: In conclusion, abdominal pain in the emergency department is a significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenge due to the wide range of possible etiologies and the need for rapid and accurate interventions. A systematic approach that integrates a detailed clinical history, careful physical examination, appropriate laboratory and imaging tests, and targeted therapeutic interventions is essential for the effective management of this symptom.
