Objectives: To analyze the management of asthma and the perspectives involved in managing the disease. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, carried out by searching for scientific publications indexed in the following databases: MEDLINE via PubMed, Cocrahne, Lilacs and SciELO. The following descriptors were used: Asthma; Technological development; Treatment. At the end of the searches, 11 publications met the proposed inclusion and exclusion criteria and were eligible for the study. Results: Given the findings extracted from the selected studies, it was noted that the recommended treatments for asthma have limitations and different degrees of effectiveness, with challenges related to this treatment being non-adherence to established treatments. Conclusion: This study allowed us to reflect on the need to ensure treatments with greater effectiveness and adherence for individuals with asthma, promoting an improvement in quality of life and longer survival, using new medications and new technologies for this purpose. Professional support is essential in managing these vulnerable individuals.
