Abstract

This article analyzes the strategic role of Police Intelligence in combating criminal factions in the state of Amazonas, a region marked by geographical, social, and logistical peculiarities that create a complex scenario for public security. Based on the assumption that organized crime in the Amazon is fluid, adaptable, and deeply territorialized, the study investigates how Judicial Police Intelligence (IPJ) and Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) can facilitate more effective state responses. The analysis shows that organizations such as the Comando Vermelho (CV) operate in transnational networks that use rivers and porous borders as their main logistical corridors. The study, which is qualitative and descriptive-analytical in nature, is based on official seizure data (2020-2024), relevant legislation, and specialized literature. It concludes that strengthening intelligence systems, with the creation of agile information flows and the professionalization of analysis is imperative to dismantle these factions. This requires overcoming challenges such as excessive compartmentalization, regional logistical limitations, and the processing of large volumes of data, proposing an integrated security model that combines qualified repression, territorial intelligence, and social development.
