A COMUNICAÇÃO INTERPROFISSIONAL COMO FERRAMENTA DE QUALIDADE NO CUIDADO EM SAÚDE: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA

Interaction among professionals from different fields is a fundamental aspect of improving healthcare delivery, particularly within Primary Health Care, as it promotes collaboration, ensures patient safety, and supports comprehensive care. This study aimed to examine the evidence available in the scientific literature regarding interprofessional interaction as a tool for enhancing the quality of healthcare through an integrative review. Nine articles published between 2021 and 2025 were included, selected from national and international databases, and their findings were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that communication is regarded as an essential competency in team functioning, contributing to care coordination, strengthening relationships between professionals and users, and promoting interprofessional collaboration. However, factors such as excessive workload, high professional turnover, hierarchical structures, and the lack of formal spaces for dialogue emerged as barriers to its effectiveness. Furthermore, interpersonal skills such as empathy and emotional management, combined with interprofessional training and the development of structured communication protocols, may foster safer and more user-centered practices. It is concluded that interprofessional communication should be understood as a crucial organizational determinant of healthcare quality, requiring institutional investment to restructure work processes and establish adequate spaces for dialogue among professionals and with the assisted population.
