Abstract

Brazilian agribusiness, a pillar of the national economy, is undergoing a profound transformation driven by the adoption of digital technologies, shaping what is known as Agriculture 4.0 and signaling the transition toward Agriculture 5.0. This technological revolution not only optimizes processes and increases productivity, but also redefines sustainability and efficiency throughout the entire production chain. This study aimed to analyze the role of digital technologies in strengthening Brazilian agribusiness, using qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive methodological procedures, supported by a bibliographic review. The results indicate significant progress in rural connectivity and in the adoption of tools such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and blockchain, which promote more precise and data-driven management. However, despite these advances, challenges remain regarding the universalization of internet access and the training of producers of all sizes to fully appropriate these innovations. Addressing these issues represents a crucial next step toward consolidating Brazil as a global leader in digital and sustainable agribusiness.
