PANORAMA DA OFERTA DO SERVIÇO DE PROTEÇÃO SOCIAL BÁSICA NO DOMICÍLIO EM MINAS GERAIS

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the overview of the provision of the Basic Social Protection Home-Based Service in Minas Gerais. This article is an excerpt from the master's research titled “Analysis of the Institutional Structures of the Basic Social Protection Home Service (PSB) for People with Disabilities and Older Adults in Minas Gerais. A qualitative approach of a descriptive and exploratory nature was adopted, using documentary research as the methodological procedure. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that the Basic Social Protection Service (PSB) has not been consolidated as a public policy at the municipal level, being implemented only in a fragmented manner through isolated actions embedded within other social assistance services. As a contribution, the study demonstrates the potential to strengthen the effectiveness of this public policy, both in terms of financial management and in the quality and scope of service provision, by generating information and evidence capable of supporting decision-making, as well as guiding adjustments and improvements in its implementation.
